let the adventure begin!

Dave and Sarah met online in the fall of 2016 due to a fairly ridiculous series of events that are too complicated to go into here (sushi was involved). At the time Dave was a scruffy, spartan living bachelor working as a fraud prevention analyst in Chicago’s Loop where he still works today. Sarah was still operating her young vintage clothing business primarily out of a vintage Winnebego RV that she and her business partner often took on tour across the US. The two quickly bonded over their mutual appreciation for the Dragonball and Harry Potter fictional universes, and similar tastes in food which really helps for first dates. Romance slowly but steadily blossomed from there. Over the seven years of their relationship Sarah and Dave have traveled the world; visiting ruins and enjoying ceviche in Peru, relaxing on the beaches of Mexico, obsessing over wine and perfectly al dente pasta in Italy, and exploring the numerous waterfalls and volcanic wonders of Iceland not to mention a variety of interesting locales closer to home (Universal Studios Harry Potter World anyone? The wands and rides are truly worth the trip). It’s been a wonderful near decade of learning and growing together. Dave has picked up a few fashion tips from Sarah (namely, wear clothes that actually fit properly), and Sarah’s sports knowledge has made great strides. A rousing game of ‘match the city to the team name’ is a favorite for car rides. The two learned to love each other’s unique quirks and have found that Dave’s (often extreme) quiet, reserved, and calming demeanor is a perfect complement to Sarah’s creative, outgoing, and driven personality as they navigated love and life together. Be it growing professionally, the uncertain twists and turns of the pandemic, taking the plunge into first time home ownership or just quiet evenings at home together watching hallmark channel reruns, Dave and Sarah have been each other’s rocks. They are so very excited to (finally!) get married and share the celebration with all of you!
